Google Props Eye-Tracking Technology to Amplify Ads – NASDAQ:GOOG

Google Inc, the tech giant, focused on improving the ways people connect with information, witnesses’ eye as an input to tower ad revenue on YouTube.

Using an eye-tracking research service tool, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), facilitates the advertisers to make their ads more effective and striking on its YouTube video site.

The eye tracking technology refers to the aggregated eye movements of thousands of visitors on a site. The latest technology process leaves hot spots on the page of the most looked area, then going to other parts of the page. On can say it is a tool to grab a healthy amount of attention.

The senior analyst for research firm Inside Digital Media, Phil Leigh, reported that facilitating advertisers produce more appealing ads probably will help Google to increase ad revenue on YouTube.

Google’s strong opponent Yahoo, a digital media company also use biometric monitoring services that measure the effects of ads on human elements such as eye movement and heart rate.

Google has been working with MRC International, a biometric testing company, to carry out eye-tracking study of presenting ads on YouTube in Sweden and numerous other European nations.
MRC usually conducts its tests with panels of volunteers over the Web, whereas web cameras in PCs and laptops connect to MRC software to track the eye movements of consumers during the test.

The search company hopes that it will help advertisers get more value from their ad placements.

Google generates most of its revenue from text based ads that show near search results while it also focusing on other resources to build up other spring of revenue, including display ads on YouTube.

In October, Google reported that its display ad business, which includes ads on YouTube, was about $2.50 billion annual run rate. The company had earned overall revenue of $8.60 billion last quarter alone.
